Yella's Market Gardens
Yallourn St, Ardeer

European immigrants have operated a market garden at this site from the end of WW2. 

 

The market garden is surrounded by the Kororoit Creek on three sides at the junction of Jones Creek, an market garden.

Today the rows of the olive trees and prickly pears can still be seen. Today prickly pear is on Australia' list of 32 Weeds of National Significance.
