In 1907 H.V. McKay built his house "The Gables" on his recent purchase of 276 acres which he was subdividing and selling.

Rupertswood Mansion, 3 Macedon St, Sunbury

​

H.V. McKay achieved his long-held ambition when he brought this mansion in 1922. The mansion was built by Sir William Clarke, one of Australia's wealthiest men. Building works were completed in 1876.
