The Sunshine YCW Football Club started in 1942 and played in the U/18 YCW competition.

Between 1945 to 1959 the club was in recess. In 1959 the club played their first match with with a side in the U/16 YCW competition. The club's first open age team played in1963.

In 2000, the club dropped the YCW from it name and is now known as the Sunshine Football Club (Kangaroos).
