The original Kororoit Creek Hotel on the banks of the Kororoit Creek was established in 1860. In 1878, the hotel was purchased by Alexander Dickson and he renamed it to the Cricket Club Hotel. Today the Hotel is known as the Deer Park Hotel.

 

One of the early female publicans was Maria Frances Simmons Nee Dickson Nee Gregg (See photo below).
